Minicoy Island

Situated amid the vast Arabian Sea, Minicoy is one of the most beautiful islands and the southernmost island of Lakshadweep group of islands. It is a census town of the Union Territory and the 2nd largest island. It is a popular tourist place in the Union territory and attracts a large number of tourists worldwide. It lies close to the 9 0 Channel, which is one of the busiest shipping routes. The island is often referred to as Women’s Island, owing to the dominating position enjoyed by the women folk. 1. Dolphin Dive Center: Dolphin Dive Center is the most prominent attraction in Kavaratti and is considered to be the ideal destination for Scuba dive beginners. One can also take a Glass bottomed boat trip to view the marine life in the Lagoons.

2. Urja Mosque: A popular attraction in this beautiful island is Urja Mosque, lies in the south-eastern part of the island. It is an ancient mosque, which was built during the 17th century by Qasim Muhammad Sheikh. It is famous for its beautiful architecture and has carved wooden pillars and ceilings, which are the highlights of this mosque. It also houses the grave of Muhammad Sheikh at the place where the prayer hall lies.
